A legendary hip-hop icon will appear at the 2024 Summer Olympics. The Olympic Games in Paris this year will include Snoop Dogg as part of NBCUniversal’s coverage. Beginning on July 26 on NBC and Peacock, Snoop will be on location to report from the Olympics primetime broadcast, according to The Hollywood Reporter. On Sunday night, during Sunday Night Football’s halftime on NBC and Peacock, the news was made.

“I grew up watching the Olympics and am thrilled to see the incredible athletes bring their A-game to Paris. It’s a celebration of skill, dedication and the pursuit of greatness,” Snoop exclaimed. “We’re going to have some amazing competitions and, of course, I will be bringing that Snoop style to the mix. It’s going to be the most epic Olympics ever, so stay tuned, and keep it locked. Let’s elevate, celebrate and make these games unforgettable, smoke the competition, and may the best shine like gold. Peace and Olympic LOVE, ya dig?”

Molly Solomon, executive producer and president of NBC Olympics Production, said in a statement that “Snoop is already an Olympic gold medal commentator, generating tens of millions of views for his highlights commentary on Peacock of the dressage competition during the Tokyo Olympics. That performance alone has earned Snoop a job as our Special Correspondent in Paris. We don’t know what the heck is going to happen every day, but we know he will add his unique perspective to our reimagined Olympic primetime show.”

Snoop will engage in conversation with Mike Tirico, the anchor of NBC’s Olympic coverage, during the games. The Grammy-nominated musician will discuss his observations on events taking place in the French capital while exploring famous sites, going to Olympic games and events, and hosting foreign athletes.

The 2024 Summer Olympics will take place from July 26 to August 11, 2024. Paris will host the Olympics for the third time, having previously hosted in 1900 and 1924. France will host the Olympics for the sixth time, having previously held the Winter Olympics three times. In September 2017, Paris was granted the Olympic Games in Lima, Peru. The 2024 Olympics will also include events in 16 additional cities around metropolitan France.
