Fireworks continue in the stock market to welcome the New Year, Sensex-Nifty closed at lifetime high with strong rise.

Stock Market Closing On 28 December 2023: in Indian stock market year 2023 For the third consecutive day in the last trading week of 2017, the Indian stock market closed with a spectacular rise. Buying in FMCG and energy stocks led the market’s rise today. December was also the last of the series and due to strong buying, BSE Sensex closed at 72,410 with a jump of 371 points and Nifty of National Stock Exchange closed at 21,778 with a jump of 124 points. This is a lifetime high for both the indexes.

The biggest rise in today’s trade was in Nifty FMCG index which closed at 56,504 points with a jump of 754 points. Apart from this, strong growth has also been seen in the stocks of banking, energy, auto, pharma, metals, infra, commodity, healthcare, oil and gas sectors. In today’s trade, only IT and consumer durables stocks saw a decline. Mid cap and small cap stocks remain bright. Of the 30 Sensex stocks, 22 closed with gains and 8 closed with losses. Whereas out of 50 stocks of Nifty, 38 closed with rise and 12 with fall.

Due to the tremendous growth in the stock market, there has been a jump in market capitalization. The market cap of companies listed on BSE has reached Rs 363 lakh crore, which was Rs 361.30 lakh crore in the last session. There has been a jump of Rs 1.70 lakh crore in investor wealth in today’s business.

In today’s trading, NTPC 2.45 percent, Nestle 2.26 percent, Power Grid 2,14 percent, Mahindra & Mahindra 1.33 percent, Tata Motors 1.13 percent, ITC 1.11 percent, Bharti Airtel 1.06 percent, HDFC Bank 0.80 percent. Reliance closed with a rise of 0.70 percent. While Asian Paints closed with a rise of 0.63 percent, Infosys 0.48 percent, UltraTech Cement 0.38 percent, Maruti Suzuki closed with a rise of 0.37 percent.
