Sulfur Coated Urea: The Central Government has approved the decision to launch Urea Gold. On Saturday, the Cabinet approved the proposal to introduce Sulfur Coated Urea. With this, the way has been cleared to deliver urea gold to the farmers. This sulfur coated urea will be sold under the name of Urea Gold. Its 40 kg bag will cost Rs 266.50.
Notification sent to all companies
According to the information, the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers issued a notification about this decision to the MDs and CMDs of all fertilizer manufacturing companies. It has been told that the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) in its meeting held on June 28, 2023, had approved the proposal to launch Sulfur Coated Urea by the name of ‘Urea Gold’.
Price will be equal to Neem coated urea
According to the information, it will be sold in bags of 40 kg. Its price will be equal to a 45 kg bag of Neem Coated Urea. The MRP of a bag of Neem coated urea is Rs 266.50 including GST. Due to keeping the prices of both equal, there will be no additional burden on the farmers. Besides, he will use more environmentally friendly urea.
Capacity of soil will increase
Sulphur-coated urea is expected to play an important role in enhancing soil health, taking full advantage of nutrients and ensuring better crop yields. The environment will be greatly benefited with the help of Gold Urea.
Farmers will get double benefit
Urea Gold was launched only last year. Due to this there will be no shortage of sulfur in the soil. Use of urea gold increases the ability of plants to utilize nitrogen better. Besides, the consumption of urea also reduces. Farmers get double benefit from this. The situation of cultivable land in India is worsening. Soil fertility and yield is also decreasing due to indiscriminate use of urea. This urea is being manufactured by Rashtriya Chemicals and Fertilizer Limited (RCF) Company.
Urea Gold is better than other fertilizers
Nitrogen is released slowly from sulfur coated urea. Due to the presence of humic acid in urea gold, its life is longer. This is a good alternative to the existing urea. According to the information, 15 kg urea gold will give equal benefits as 20 kg conventional urea.
