Karan Adani Elevated To Role Of Managing Director At Adani Ports And SEZ

Adani Group Updates: Karan Adani will now be the new MD of Adani Ports and SEZ, the ports and logistics company of Adani Group. Earlier this post was held by Gautam Adani, Chairman of Adani Group. Karan Adani has been promoted to MD in Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (APSEZ). Gautam Adani has been redesignated as Executive Chairman of the company.

Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone informed about this decision in a regulatory filing. The company said that Karan Adani will be the new managing director of Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone. The company said in its statement that Adani Ports and SEZ has achieved tremendous growth during the tenure of Karan Adani as CEO. Karan Adani started his career in Adani Group from Mundra Ports in 2009. He was made the CEO in 2016, after which the portfolio of Adani Ports has expanded tremendously. During his tenure, the company has added four ports and terminals in India, one in Sri Lanka and one in Israel.

Adani Port has become the largest port company in the country with 14 ports in India, while two ports of the company are located abroad. Adani Ports and SEZ with its subsidiary Adani Logistics has become the largest private rail operator in the country. The company said that the board of Adani Ports SEZ has approved the appointment of Ashwini Gupta as the new CEO. Before this, Ashwini Gupta had been the former Global Chief Operative Officer at Nissan Motors. Karan Adani said that we are very happy to welcome Ashwini Gupta. He said that the company will benefit from the experiences of Ashwini Gupta.

Earlier today, at market close, the stock of Adani Ports and SEZ closed at Rs 1094.25 with a jump of 1.47 percent.
