Vigor returned to the stock market, Sensex-Nifty closed with great rise, heavy buying in real estate stocks.

Stock Market Closing On 4 January 2024: After two days of decline, the Indian stock market has returned to its glory again. There has been a tremendous rise in the market due to buying by investors in banking, energy, FMCG and mid cap and small cap stocks. Nifty Mid Cap Index reached record high with a jump of 800 points. At the end of today’s trading, BSE Sensex closed at 71,847 points with a jump of 491 points and Nifty of National Stock Exchange closed at 21,658 points with a jump of 141 points.

There was no decline in stocks of any sector in today’s trade. Stocks from Banking, FMCG, Energy, Media IT, Auto, Pharma, Healthcare, Oil & Gas, Consumer Durables sectors closed with great gains. The biggest rise has been seen in real stocks. Real stocks index Nifty Realty has closed at its lifetime high with a rise of 6.72 percent. There was a record rise in Nifty Mid Cap Index and Small Index also. Of the 30 Sensex stocks, 18 closed with gains and 12 closed with losses. Whereas out of 50 shares of Nifty, 29 shares closed with rise and 21 with fall.

Market cap at record high

Due to the tremendous growth in the Indian stock market, the market capitalization of listed companies has reached a record high. According to BSE data, the stocks of listed companies have reached Rs 368.43 lakh crore, which had closed at Rs 365.10 lakh crore in the last trading session. That means an increase of Rs 3.33 lakh crore has been seen in market capitalization in today’s trade.

In today’s trading, Bajaj Finance closed with a rise of 4.30 percent, NTPC 3.51 percent, IndusInd Bank 2.90 percent, Axis Bank 2.45 percent, Power Grid 1.94 percent. While HCL Tech closed with a fall of 1.29 percent, UltraTech Cement 0.96 percent, Mahindra & Mahindra 0.88 percent, Wipro closed with a fall of 0.83 percent.
