In today’s time, people keep switching jobs for career growth. This is a very common thing, but still there is a lot of controversy about it. The interesting thing is that some big companies are involved in this controversy regarding job switch of employees. In the latest case, a big company has even demanded crores of rupees from one of its former employees who had joined a job elsewhere.
clash over employees
This matter is related to Wipro, one of the country’s largest IT companies. Wipro’s former Chief Financial Officer Jatin Dalal left his old job some time ago. After that Jatin Dalal joined another giant IT company Cognizant. There was a clash between Wipro and Cognizant regarding this. According to reports, litigation has now started in this matter.
Wipro made so much demand from former employee
According to a report in Moneycontrol, Wipro has filed a lawsuit in a Bengaluru court regarding the broker’s job switch. Wipro alleges that the broker joined Cognizant within 12 months of leaving its job. In this way the broker has violated the non-compete clause. For this reason, Wipro has demanded compensation of Rs 25.15 crore from the broker. Wipro’s demand also includes 18 percent annual interest till the date of payment.
Resigned from Wipro in September
Dalal had resigned from the post of CFO of Wipro in September. He was associated with Wipro for more than 20 years. In the last few days, many top executives of Wipro have resigned. Broker is also one of them. The last working day of the broker in Wipro was 30 November. Dalal is going to lead the finance department in Cognizant in his new job.
First this senior employee joined Cognizant
Before this, another senior former employee of Wipro has joined Cognizant. Former Senior Vice President of Wipro Mohammad Haq joined Cognizant this year. He was the head of Wipro’s US healthcare and medical devices business. Now he has joined Cognizant as Senior Vice President. He has been made the head of Life Sciences in Cognizant. Wipro has also filed a complaint in Mohammad Haq’s case on the basis of non-compete clause. In that case too, Wipro says that Haq joined a new job in Cognizant before 12 months of leaving the job.
