China’s rapid growth in cold chain logistics

The China Association of Logistics and Procurement released data on cold chain logistics operations in the first half of this year, showing a restored business environment, market demand, and competitiveness of enterprises.

The total amount of cold chain logistics in China was 3.1 trillion yuan in the first half of the year, up 3.7% from the same period last year. The market size was 2.68 billion yuan, up 3.3% from the same period last year. The total demand for cold chain logistics was 210 million tonnes, up 5.2% from the same period last year.

The rapid development of cold chain logistics in China relies on the government’s support, with over 20 policies implemented in the first half of the year. Investment in cold chain infrastructure increased by 18.6% in the last six months, while refrigerated truck sales reached 25,723, up 3.7%. Public cold storage capacity increased by 4.4% compared to the same period last year.
