Published:

Fugitive Dawood Ibrahim, wanted in many cases in India, was once feared. A lawyer from Delhi wants to completely eliminate the fear of Dawood, who rules the underworld of Mumbai. For this, the Delhi lawyer is buying Dawood’s properties one after the other. In a recent case, that lawyer paid 1300 times the price to buy an ancestral land of Dawood.

Bids worth crores for such a small plot

This is the story of Delhi lawyer Ajay Srivastava. Recently he finalized the deal of an agricultural plot for Rs 2 crore, which was once owned by Dawood. He has made a deal for such a huge amount for a plot of just 171 square meters. Srivastava has bought this land in an auction. The reserve price of the plot in the auction was only Rs 15 thousand. In this way he made the deal at about 1300 times higher price.

Both the plots of Dawood’s mother were not sold.

Four plots of Dawood have been auctioned recently. All the plots have been auctioned under the Smugglers and Foreign Exchange Manipulators Act. All these plots are located in Ratnagiri district of Maharashtra. The reserve price of all four plots was kept at Rs 19.22 lakh. The bid for the land for which Srivastava made the final bid of Rs 2.01 crore started at just Rs 15,440. No buyer came forward for the two plots registered in the name of Dawood’s mother Amina Bai.

Have bought Dawood’s property before also

Srivastava also bought another land of Dawood. The second plot is also agricultural and is of 1,730 square meters. Its auction started at Rs 1.56 lakh and Srivastava bought it for Rs 3.3 lakh. Srivastava has already bought Dawood’s property. He had bought two shops of Dawood in Nagpada, Mumbai. However, they have not been able to get possession of the shops yet. A Mumbai court had given a verdict in Srivastava’s favor regarding the occupation of the shops, which has been challenged in the Bombay High Court by the children of Dawood’s sister Haseena Parkar. After that the matter is still under consideration of the court.

Srivastava bid first

During the last few years, many properties of Dawood and his relatives have been auctioned. The first auction of Dawood’s property was held in 2000, but not a single bidder came forward. After that, in the auction held in 2001, Srivastava had successfully bid for two shops. Since then, 11 properties of Dawood and his relatives have been auctioned.
