Recently, Narayan and Sudha Murthy have revealed many shocking secrets related to their marriage in an interview given to a channel. The couple told that they spent only Rs 800 on their wedding.
Sudha Murthy said during the interview- I belong to a big joint family, where there were only 75 to 80 members in the family. In such a situation, her father wanted to invite 200 to 300 relatives for Sudha Murthy’s wedding, but Sudha Murthy wanted a very simple marriage instead of a grand wedding.

Sudha Murthy and Narayan Murthy were married in the year 1978. Both of them wanted a simple marriage instead of much pomp. For this, he had fixed a budget of Rs 800 for the wedding, but Sudha Murthy’s father was unhappy with this. He said that this is the marriage of the first daughter of the family and they wanted to do it with pomp, but in the end both of them decided to have a simple wedding. The couple took seven rounds in Bengaluru in the presence of close relatives and friends.
Only 800 rupees were spent on the wedding.
Sudha Murthy told that both of them together had spent a total of Rs 800 on this marriage, out of which Rs 400 were spent by Narayan Murthy and Rs 400 by Sudha Murthy. Both of them had kept their marriage very simple. Narayan Murthy had given Sudha Murthy the option to choose either a saree or a mangalsutra, so she bought a new mangalsutra for Rs 300. Sudha Murthy said in this interview that marriage is not just a one day bond, it is a lifelong relationship. In such a situation, instead of spending more money, we should pay more attention to each other.

The name of Infosys co-founder Narayana Murthy comes in the list of the richest people of the country. According to Forbes report, his net worth is 4.4 billion dollars. The total wealth of Narayan and Sudha Murthy is around Rs 37,465 crore. Sudha Murthy is the chairperson of Infosys Foundation.
