Controversy Erupts as Congress Leader Suggests Revering Siddaramaiah like Lord Ram

This startling analogy has stirred political uproar in the state and across the nation ahead of the grand inauguration of Ram Temple.

In a recent statement, former Karnataka minister Anjaneya drew a comparison between Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Lord Ram. He also said that there is no need to visit Ayodhya top worship ‘BJP’s Ram’. “Our Ram is here, BJP’s in Ayodhya,” he said. Anjaneya further remarked, “Worship Siddaramaiah here, why go to Ayodhya?” This startling analogy has stirred political uproar in the state and across the nation ahead of the grand inauguration of Ram Temple in Ayodhya. While speaking to reporters in Chitradurga, the former minister said that ‘Ram is inside our heart’.

The inauguration of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya slated for January 22 has left the opposition INDI alliance parties divided over whether to attend or not. The mega upcming event has encountered a cloud of controversy with several prominent opposition leaders announcing their decision to boycott the event, while a few parties are yet to disclose their official stand.

While the boycotting parties and its leaders collectively accused ruling BJP of using the sacred occasion for political gain ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has affirmed his government and party’s unwavering support for the construction of the temple.

Siddaramaiah clarified, “We are not against the issue of Ayodhya Ram Mandir, we are not against building a temple either, we are not against Ram Mandir; we are in favour of Ram Mandir.” His statements supporting the Ram Mandir inauguration surfaced after one of Karnataka ministers accused the central government of leveraging the Ram Mandir inauguration to secure votes in the impending Lok Sabha Elections. Last week, Siddaramaiah said that he did not get the invitation for the consecration ceremony of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya.

Drawing a parallel between the Pulwama terror attack and the forthcoming Ram Mandir inauguration in Ayodhya, Dasharathaiah Sudhakar, Congress leader and Karnataka’s Planning and Statistics Minister said that BJP government used the Pulwama terror attack to secure votes in the last Lok Sabha elections and this time, they are holding Lord Ram’s photo.
