Karnataka: Ahead of the grand inauguration of Ram Temple in Ayodhya, Karnataka Congress leader and son of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Yathindra Siddaramaiah, on Wednesday made a shocking anti-Hindu remark. “Ambedkar had said that if our nation becomes a Hindu Rastra, there will be no other danger. Today, Pakistan, Iran, Afghanistan have become bankrupt by dictatorship in the name of religion. People lost their rights there. Today there is a threat to secularism due to the BJP and RSS. They want to make a Hindu Rastra. We shouldn’t give them that opportunity. If not we too will be in the same situation like Pakistan and Afghanistan,” Yathindra Siddaramaiah said. This anti-Hindu rant has stoked massive controversy across the nation.
Earlier in the day, Congress leader BK Hariprasad made another shocking statement. He said that a ‘Godhra-like incident may repeat in Karnataka’. BK Hariprasad’s comment comes in the backdrop of the arrest of Shrikant Pujari, the Karsewak who was allegedly involved in the Ram Temple agitation that took place in Hubballi after the Babri Masjid demolition in 1992.
