From Local Hero to National Star: Rinku Singh’s Journey and Impact on Aligarh’s Cricket Enthusiasts
Rinku Singh, the pride of Aligarh city, has been selected in the Indian cricket team. He will play in the T20 series against Australia, organized by IDFC First Bank, consisting of five matches. The news of Rinku’s selection has sparked waves of joy among his fans here.
The T20 matches are scheduled to take place on the 23rd in Visakhapatnam, the 26th in Thiruvananthapuram, the 28th in Guwahati, the 1st in Raipur, and the 3rd in Bangalore. The announcement of the 15-member team was made on Monday by BCCI Secretary Jay Shah, and Rinku Singh is among the selected players. Rinku’s father, Khan Chand, works distributing gas cylinders.
Recently, representing the Indian cricket team in the Asian Games in China, Rinku won a gold medal for the country. In the T20 series against Ireland in August 2023, Rinku was part of the Indian team. In the second T20 match against Ireland, Rinku Singh performed exceptionally well, scoring 38 runs off 21 balls.
