Israel’s labour minister, Yoav Ben Tzur, credited his government for a reported increase in the employment rate of ultra-Orthodox men in 2023. Israel’s Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS) reported this recently. The employment rate for ultra-Orthodox men at this level is reported to be 55.5% in 2023, up from 53.1 per cent at the end of 2022.

However, data shows that there has been a steady increase in the employment rate since the end of the Covid crisis. It is 50.6 per cent. While the current rate is still above the previous high of 51.9% in 2016, there is no data on what type of work is being done and how many people are employed full-time. Ben-Tzur commented, “The Ministry of Labor promotes training and employment in the economy and emphasizes the integration of diverse populations, and it proved itself.” “The increase in the ultra-conservative employment rate is the result of our efforts and extensive investment, and it contributes tremendously to the economy.”

“These figures highlight the tremendous potential of population integration into the economy, when we have the twin benefits of training and quality employment for each individual, and the contribution of a diverse, skilled and quality workforce to the economy. Is.” He added. Minister Ben-Tzur is a member of the Sephardic ultra-Orthodox ruling party.
