Trump Released From Georgia Jail for $200,000 bond

Published:

Former US President Donald Trump’s mugshot was released to the people by the Fulton County Jail, Georgia where he was charged for scheming to use illegal measures to overturn the 2020 election. He was let go after paying the bond amount of $200,000 as penalty for bail. In his interview with former Fox News reporter Carlsen, Trump took a dig at his then Vice President and now presidential candidate Mike Pence for availing the Voting Act post amendment to enable the vice president right to ‘disobey’ the President. He said, “You’ve got to understand, in my opinion, Mike Pence had the absolute right to send the votes back to the legislators.” He further claimed, “In other words, they took the Voting Act and they redid it so that the vice president no longer has the power to do what I say he could do.”

Trump’s arrest was the culmination of a two-year investigation by the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office into Trump’s attempts to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election in Georgia. The investigation found that Trump and his allies had pressured Georgia officials to “find” enough votes to change the outcome of the election, and that they had also made false claims about the election being rigged.

The Fulton County Jail released the charges levied against Trump as Violation of the Georgia Rico Act, Conspiracy to Commit Impersonating a Public Officer, 2 counts of Conspiracy to commit Forgery in the First degree, 4 counts of Conspiracy to Commit False Statements and Writings, Conspiracy to Commit Filing False Documents, 2 counts of Solicitation of Violation of Oath by Public Officer. To all of this, Trump said amid his iconic shrug, ““In other words, they took the Voting Act and they redid it so that the vice president no longer has the power to do what I say he could do.” He then told the press, “What has taken place here is a travesty of justice. We did nothing wrong. I did nothing wrong.”

Donald Trump took “A mugshot” Captioned “Never Surrender”

Donald Trump took to ‘X’ by posting a link to buy his new ‘merch’. A mugshot of his on the white T-shirt captioned “NEVER SURRENDER!”

This recent booking in Georgia jail adds to the tally of his previous three times he has had to turn himself in to local or federal officials after criminal charges were brought against him. In the case registered against him in Georgia he has been booked alongside 18 co-defendants in the RICO indictment.

Trump’s release from jail is a major development in the ongoing saga of his efforts to overturn the 2020 election. It remains to be seen whether he will be convicted of any crimes, but his arrest is a sign that he is facing serious legal jeopardy.

A few hours later Trump said in an interview with Newsmax, “Those people that have been so unfairly dragged into this, these are high-quality people who don’t even know why they were brought in.”

Trump also noted that some of his co-defendants “don’t have a lot of money, and some of them have almost nothing.”

The Emerson College polls has shown Trump as an ‘American Favourite’ by having 56% of voters under his belt of the 1000 registered voters tested. His interview yesterday with Carlson on the X platform garnered 74 million views and this arrest projected as a form of brave rebellion by Trump will work in his favour to expand his publicity overshadowing the republican primary debates to follow.
